The first chakra, also known as the Root Chakra (Muladhara), is the foundation of the chakra system and is associated with physical existence, security and survival. It is located at the base of the spine, at the coccyx, and is represented by the color red.
Properties of the 1st Chakra:
Primary Function: Security, survival and basic needs (food, shelter, safety).
Element: Earth.
Color: Red.
Emotion: Feeling safe.
Organs: Spine, intestines, legs and feet.
When the 1st Chakra is Opened:
You feel more secure, balanced, and connected to the world.
Your fears of survival diminish.
Your physical endurance increases and you build your life on solid foundations.
1. Chakra Blockage Symptoms:
Feelings of insecurity, anxieties.
Financial difficulties or constant anxiety about the future.
Physical fatigue, back or foot pain.
Ways to Open the 1st Chakra:
Grounding Exercises: Spending time in nature, stepping on the ground with bare feet.
Meditation: You can do meditations, especially focusing on the root chakra. You can focus on the color red.
Yoga Poses: Tree (Vrksasana) and Mountain (Tadasana) pose.
Affirmations: "I am safe." "Life supports me."
Nutrition: Consuming root vegetables (carrots, potatoes), proteins and red colored foods.
The root chakra is the foundation for the other chakras. When balanced, you feel more grounded and stable in your life.
